Good question!

Bouldering is a type of rock climbing that doesn’t require any ropes or harnesses. 

The walls are 5m high and you’re protected by thick safety mats in case you fall. 

Yes, the minimum age to climb at La Roca is 16 – furthermore there is a requirement to have one adult supervising each minor.

If you are under 18 you will need your legal guardian to sign the waiver on your behalf on your first visit.  

Our walls are 5m high and because there are no ropes and harnesses, it is more dangerous for children to be falling from that height.

The 24/7 annex is only accessible to climbers who have been granted a 24/7 access key.

The access key is included in all upfront memberships but can also be purchased for $50 if you have a weekly membership or a 10 pass.

We are open 10am to 6pm on public holidays.

We are closed on the following days:

  • New year’s day 1/1/23
  • Good Friday 7/4/23
  • Christmas eve 24/12/23
  • Christmas day 25/12/23
  • Boxing day 26/12/23
  • New year’s eve 31/12/23

The annex is open 24/7 and 365 days of the year to climbers with the 24/7 access key. 

No bookings are required to climb at La Roca. 

However, if you have a group of 10 or more; we would appreciate a heads  up so we can best prepare for your group to give you a better experience.

Whilst the annex is open 24/7 and 365 days, we are only staffed during the following hours:

  • Weekdays: 11:30am – 9:30pm
  • Weekends: 10am – 7pm
  • Public holidays: 10am to 6pm

La Roca is dog friendly as long as your pet is human friendly.

Please note that pets are only allowed in the main area and not in the annex. 

 

All membership suspensions must be submitted over the phone, in person or via the online e-form found here.

Memberships can not be suspended retrospectively.

The following suspension terms apply.

Weekly direct debit:
  • After your initial 1 month minimum term you can suspend your membership as many times as you like. 
  • There are no cancellation fees
3 Month upfront:
  • Suspend in 1 week increments (max 4 week block)
  • Maximum of 1 suspension
6 Month upfront:
  • Suspend in 1 week increments (max 4 week block)
  • Maximum of 2 suspension
12 Month upfront:
  • Suspend in 1 week increments (max 4 week block)
  • Maximum of 4 suspensions
Other considerations:

We understand that life is crazy.

If you have an injury or illness, are travelling for extended periods or simply cannot make it to the gym for other reasons, please chat to our staff and we can figure something out with you.
